If Not Us, Then Who?
I have written and rewritten this blog post for four days now, and I am still unable to grab the thoughts that are swirling around inside my head and put them into coherent sentences. I could blame it on a thousand things but instead of fighting to try to make myself understood, I want to simply share a few things that have made an impact in my life over the past few weeks. The first is a scripture Leo read during his daily study time that we felt really gets to the heart of why we are saying ‘yes’ to the call to go to Senegal.
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” –Romans 10:14-15
The second is a saying by John Lewis:
“If not us, then who?
If not now, then when?”
The third is a video by Audio Adrenaline that speaks about sharing the love of Christ to those who have not heard or felt it. It seems every time I turn around right now, I am being challenged to not remain inside my comfortable little life bubble and, even though it is quite scary at times, to take that giant leap of faith to trust completely in God. My prayer for myself and you is that our faith in God grows deeper and that we have the courage to follow His purpose for our lives.
